General Information for Players
Rehearsals are on Sundays from 2:45 to 5:30 PM in Greenwall Auditorium in the VAPA Building at Bennington College in North Bennington, VT, which is ADA accessible ♿︎. Please arrive in time to be ready to play at 2:45 sharp. Dress rehearsals are held the Saturday before the Sunday performance, usually also 2:45-5:30 pm unless otherwise noted. We take a short break around the middle of the rehearsal. Sometimes there are refreshments to share.
Concerts are on Sundays at 4:00 pm, also in Greenwall Auditorium, preceded by a sound check from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.
Please check your email (including your junk folder) frequently so as not to miss updates on time, location, and/or other rehearsal or concert changes related to weather, College events, or other factors, as well as other important news. Last-minute notices will also be posted in blue on the Rehearsal Notes & Files page of this website.
And please make sure we have your current, correct, and complete contact info!
Orchestra Manager Diane Bargiel sends out emails to all players to provide an overview of scheduled concert dates; rehearsal dates, times, and locations; and programs, etc., so everyone can plan ahead and mark their calendars. Please direct your questions to Diane at notabene@crocker.com or 413-687-1109.
Concert Dress
All participants wear all black. Clothing need not be formal but should be respectful--for example, black shirts and black pants. Please no white or colorful accessories or socks.
Sheet Music
Paper parts for all instruments are distributed at the first rehearsal for every concert. Some music may be found before then at IMSLP. String parts with bowings will be posted here. Questions about music parts may be directed to music librarian, Susan Abrams, via email (sabrams@williams.edu).
