A Note From Our Board President
It has been a close call these past three years. For us, it was so hard not to play and listen together. Still, Sage City Symphony survived the pandemic and is back with our unique programs of great works, new commissions, players of all ages and backgrounds, and the inspiration that has always marked our organization.
What is even more remarkable this year, we achieved two notable landmarks: the 50th anniversary of the Symphony and the 30th anniversary of our Music Director, Michael Finckel. Celebrating these occasions with exciting live concerts, the hall filled with our friends and families, is pure joy. Thank you for being part of our musical lives, whether you are just meeting Sage or have been attending for 50 years!
We have thrived all these years because you support us with your presence, your enthusiasm, and your gifts. As you probably know, our concerts are always free and our budget modest. Most of our costs are securing music, printing programs, a stipend for our amazing Music Director, and covering some mileage costs so our musicians can play regardless of their finances.
Sage City Symphony is a vital part of our community and region. We hope you will show your support and appreciation with a gift now, so orchestral concerts continue to be a part of our lives! We ask first for support of our annual costs, and on this anniversary year, we ask that you consider an additional amount to honor our 50 years past and 50 years to come! Please click the Donate button, or mail a check payable to Sage City Symphony to PO Box 547, Shaftsbury, VT 05262.
And please join our celebration on May 21, with the concert at 4:00 pm in Greenwall Auditorium at Bennington College, followed by a light reception.
